I Get No Respect!
Certain observations are making me feel like slapping some serious sense into some people these days. What is it that makes it so hard for many people these days to actually respect the property of others? Has there been some big assembly, that I was unaware of, in which it was decided that everyone in our society need not look-out for each other or their stuff anymore, to the point of almost intentionally damaging the property of others?
Unfortunately I have no pics of this, but the other day I was looking at the car in the driveway and noticed just how many dings, dents and scratches it has, all of which were inflicted by miscellaneous buffoons out there who probably can’t operate something as simple as a car door without messing things up. All four corners have more than their share of scratches, so obviously some idiots must think that you have to use the other car’s corner as a guide while turning into a parking space; a practice commonly known as parking by braille. The back of the mirrors each have a nice deep scratch as well, meaning that someone came a bit too close, the fact the scratches go around the curved back of it and the fact they are of the fold-away kind also means they were pushed in when the person hit it, yet pulled back into place.
Of course, all of those incidents happen without the person ever even leaving a note for info or anything of the sort. Nope… The cowards just hit and then carry on with whatever they were there to do, probably bumping into everything in their path while walking through the parking lot and even once inside the building. However, I can’t really say I’m all that surprised after having witnessed, first-hand, many people parking by braille or putting all their effort into just trying to end-up between the lines of their space, being the highly skilled individuals that they are.
The sad fact is though, I think it is most likely a problem related with a general lack of respect for others and their property that all too many people seem to have these days, rather than incompetence behind the wheel. Though, there definitely are many automotidiotic people out there as well who simply can’t drive. I see too many people knowingly hit other cars in parking lots and just shrug it off like nothing happens; personally, this disgusts me!
If there’s a message for you in here, it’s that you should all be careful out there. Even if you don’t care about your own stuff, other people do and it’s downright disrespectful to damage their property in such a way.
