GM Board to Meet Friday for Renault Alliance Discussion
The General Motors board of directors will meet on Friday in order to discuss the proposal to join the existing Renault-Nissan Alliance. Kirk Kerkorian, GM’s biggest shareholder, had proposed that they immediately begin exploring the potential for such an alliance.
“The board was going to meet anyway on July 7, before any of this became an issue, but I’m sure that this will be among the topics,” a spokeswoman for the company said.
Carlos Ghosn has already expressed Renault-Nissan’s interest in including GM in their existing alliance, but any specific proposals have yet to be made.
