Mitsubishi Loses Another Exec

Thursday July 6, 2006

Yet another in a long string of recent resignations from executives over at the somewhat troubled Mitsubishi, Richard Gilligan – co-president and co-CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America – has decided to retire.

Gilligan had been recruited from Ford in order to set-up Mitsubishi’s first American assembly plant over in Normal Illinois. He had also been the president of Mitsubishi Manufacturing North America before being named the president of Mitsubishi Motors North America in January 2005, after the departure of Finbarr O’Neill.

Their North American operations will continue to be run by Hiroshi Harunari, who has been president of Mitsubishi’s North American arm since January 2006.
