Ford Extends Warranty on Model Year 2007 Vehicles
Taking another step in the right direction, Ford has decided to further stand behind their product and send a clear message home: We mean business!
Yes, the folks up in Dearborn apparently aren’t all talk; Ford Motor Co. has just announced that they will extend warranty coverage on all Ford, Mercury and Lincoln products, starting with the 2007 model year.
Ford and Mercury vehicles will see their powertrain warranties extended to five years or 60,000 miles (100,000 Km in Canada), with the bumper-to-bumper remaining at three years or 36,000 miles. Lincoln branded vehicles will see their powertrain warranties extended to six years or 70,000 miles (110,000 Km in Canada), with the bumper-to-bumper still at four years and 50,000 miles.
Ford will also offer complimentary roadside assistance for the entire powertrain warranty period, including towing, fuel fill, lock-out services, travel planning and emergency trip reimbursement.
Ford also offers a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty on its 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine. Under its new program, Ford will eliminate a $100 deductible attached to that diesel engine warranty.
